The events are designed with three core goals in mind to reinforce why the Washington, D.C. Metro area is the place to live after college.  They are:

  • Community Building – Through YES DMV, interns will form lasting relationships with peers. The more personal connections a person has, the more likely they will stay in the area.  Our events are designed to break down social barriers to help participants engage and interact.

  • Personal Development – Throughout the program, interns will grow personally in a number of ways.  They will have to the opportunity to attend professional development events to develop their skills and goals.  There will be volunteer opportunities to help those in need within the community.  Finally, they will be able to work on their networking skills across all of the events.

  • Social Experience – Lastly, by participating in our 10 week program, interns will have the summer they will never forget.  Interns will have the opportunity to learn the importance of communication and team-building through icebreakers and interactive and engaging events. Whether it’s attending their first Nationals Game, rock climbing at Earth Treks, performing sunset yoga on a rooftop, or touring the monuments in Washington, D.C., all participants will walk away feeling motivated + energized and a huge desire to stay in the DMV area.
